School Mission

 

We, the learning family at SuccessTech Academy,

will graduate self directed problem solvers

with clear personal, academic and professional goals

focused on responsible citizenship.

 

         

          School History

 

SuccessTech Academy (STA) is a small nontraditional public high school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in the state of Ohio.   The school is located in downtown Cleveland.  It opened in August 2002 with the assistance of a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation:  http://www.gatesfoundation.org/AboutUs/

 

SuccessTech Academy is one of eight schools under the Model Secondary Schools project funded by the Foundation:  http://www.gatesfoundation.org/UnitedStates/Education/TransformingHighSchools/

 

The school opened with 75 ninth grade students.  Each year a new 9th grade was phased in, until the school housed grades 9 through 12.  The first graduation ceremony was held in June 2006.
